I am a graphic designer with over 15 years experience within the graphic design
industry.
I call myself a graphic designer, but most of the important creative work I do
is done long before I ever get to play with graphics. The work I do is almost
all commercial and so it’s about answering business challenges and delivering results. But somehow
creative guru/superhero just never seems right, so I stick with graphic
designer.
So what makes me up?
I love macs and think the world would be a little less bright without them. I of
course have no bad feelings towards those people who still see the world
through pc eyes, I just don’t understand them. I am not a fan of twitter, although it’s part of most of the integrated marketing campaigns I now deliver. It’s just not me. I love being given business challenges that have left my clients
stumped. On these days I get to wear my underpants on the outside. I like
working with people who are passionate about their work, whether they be
designers, clients or simply anyone who loves what they do.
When I’m not working.
I have been known to be a little obsessive on whichever thing grabs me next. At
the moment I’m brewing my own real ale and red wine. However over the last year I’ve taken up climbing, mountain biking, bread making, growing my own vegetables,
hiking up mountains and learning german(again). If some of these seem a little
random, well it’s because I still feel like the world is a big toy shop with lots of new things
for me still to play with. Generally though, there are some constants in my
life, keeping fit, good food, good friends, film, gaming and the odd beer.
